Evolution and moves

Evolution

Most evolutions in the valley happen by level. When a battle ends, each Pokémon in your party that has reached its evolution level, and hasn't fainted, evolves on the spot. It doesn't have to be the one that fought. A Rare Candy from the $PVE Market also counts: if it lifts a Pokémon to its evolution level, it evolves right away.

Three evolutions need a stone from the $PVE Market instead: a Thunder Stone (Pikachu → Raichu), a Moon Stone (Clefairy → Clefable) or a Fire Stone (Vulpix → Ninetales). Use it from Party → Use item.

These Pokémon don't evolve in the valley:

Eevee, Mew .

When a Pokémon evolves it keeps its level, experience and moves, and its HP goes up by however much its maximum HP grew. If it reached the level while fainted, it evolves after the next battle in which it's still standing.

Learning moves

A Pokémon knows up to four moves. Wild and trainer Pokémon know the four most recent moves for their level.

When your Pokémon reaches a level on its list below, it learns that move:

  • With fewer than four moves, it learns the new one straight away.
  • With four already, you choose a move to forget, or choose not to learn the new one.

Evolved forms share their line's list, so nothing is lost by evolving early or late.
