What is Valley Explorers?
Pokémon Valley Explorers is a cozy, pixel-art Pokémon adventure that runs in your web browser. You arrive in a small valley, choose a partner Pokémon, and spend your days exploring, battling, catching, and growing berries. It plays on a computer with a keyboard and on a phone with touch controls, in portrait or landscape.
There is nothing to download and no account to make. Go to playpve.xyz and press Begin your journey.
What you do in the valley
- Explore three areas. Mosslight Hamlet is home. Fernwake Woods lies to the north. The Moonlit Grove sits behind a sealed gate at the top of the woods.
- Meet 34 Pokémon. Each has its real Pokédex number, types, base stats, and catch rate. Some only appear at dusk, at night, or in the rain. See the Pokédex.
- Battle. Fights are turn-based and use the classic type chart and damage formula. Your Pokémon gain experience, learn moves, and evolve. See Battles.
- Catch. Weaken a wild Pokémon, toss it a berry it likes, then time your throw on the ring. See Catching.
- Farm. Plant seeds in the hamlet garden, water them, and harvest berries. Berries heal your team or sell at Mira's Market. See Farming.
- Watch the clock. A full day lasts 10 real minutes, with dusk, night, and rain along the way. See Day, night and weather.
Where $PVE fits
$PVE is a token on the Solana blockchain, and it's the currency of the $PVE Market:
- Evolution stones. The only way to get Raichu, Clefable and Ninetales.
- Master Ball, Ultra Balls, Rare Candy. Catch Mew on the first throw, catch more easily, level up instantly.
- Lucky Egg and Sprinkler. Permanent double Exp. and a self-watering garden.
- Expedition Permit. Opens the gate to the Moonlit Grove on your save.
Every purchase is burned on-chain. Holding at least 1 $PVE also makes your lantern glow gold, which is cosmetic only. The hamlet, the woods, every trainer, the garden, and Mira's regular shop are free and never ask for a wallet. Read What $PVE is for the details, and Wallet safety before you connect anything.
Who makes it
Valley Explorers began as a hackathon project. The world art is original pixel art drawn in code, and the music and sound are generated live in your browser. The Pokémon sprites come from the PokeAPI sprite collection. The source is on GitHub; see Run it locally.
