Farming and foraging
Berries are the valley's main resource. They heal your Pokémon in battle, lure wild Pokémon for easier catches, and sell for money at Mira's Market. You can grow them in the garden or pick them in the wild.
Berries
| Berry | Heals | Grow time (dry) | Grow time (watered at planting) | Mira buys for | Seed price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sunberry | 20 HP | 1 min | 30 s | ₽60 | ₽60 |
| Dewberry | 35 HP | 1 min 15 s | 37.5 s | ₽90 | ₽100 |
| Emberplum | 50 HP | 1 min 30 s | 45 s | ₽140 | ₽150 |
| Moonfig | Full HP | 2 min | 1 min | ₽320 | Not sold (found only) |
Moonfig seeds aren't sold anywhere. You find them in the woods and the Grove, and harvests can give seeds back. See Getting Moonfigs.
The garden
The community garden in Mosslight Hamlet, just south of your house, has eight plots in two rows of four. They're yours to use.
Planting
Face an empty plot and press A, then pick a seed from your bag. You start the game with 3 Sunberry seeds from Elder Wren, and Mira sells Sunberry, Dewberry and Emberplum seeds.
Watering
Face a growing plant and press A. If the soil is dry, you'll be asked whether to water it. A watered plant grows twice as fast from that moment on. Each plant only needs watering once.
Rain waters for you. While it's raining, every growing plant that isn't watered yet gets watered, and anything you plant in the rain starts out watered. Wet soil looks darker.
Growing
Plants grow in real time: a Sunberry takes one real minute from planting, or 30 seconds if watered straight away. They keep growing while the game is closed, and skipping time by resting doesn't speed them up.
A plant goes through three stages you can see: a sprout, a growing plant, then a ripe bush that sparkles. A ripe Moonfig also glows at night. Face a plant to see how long it has left.
Harvesting
Face a ripe plant and press A.
- You get 2 or 3 berries (an even chance of each).
- There's a 60% chance a seed drops too, so you can plant again.
- The plot is cleared, ready for the next seed.
Planting pays
On average a plant gives 2.5 berries and 0.6 seeds back. Every seed Mira sells is worth more as berries than it costs: a ₽150 Emberplum seed grows into about ₽350 of Emberplums.
Foraging
Berry bushes
Look for berry bushes, the ones with fruit on them. Face one and press A to pick it.
| Where | Bushes | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| Fernwake Woods | 5 | Sunberry (40%), Dewberry (40%) or Emberplum (20%) |
| Moonlit Grove | 2 | Moonfig, always |
Each pick gives 1 or 2 berries (an even chance of each), and a 65% chance of a seed of the same kind. A bush then needs 90 real seconds to regrow. The leafy round bushes in the hamlet are only decoration.
Sparkles
Small sparkles on the ground mark hidden finds. Face one and press A. Each sparkle can be collected once per save.
| Where | Find |
|---|---|
| Mosslight Hamlet, the sand by the pond | 2 Dewberry seeds |
| Fernwake Woods, near the west edge north of the stream | 1 Moonfig seed |
| Fernwake Woods, middle, just north of the stream | 2 Dewberries |
| Fernwake Woods, by the east bridge | 2 Sunberry seeds and 1 Emberplum |
| Fernwake Woods, south-east corner | 2 Emberplum seeds |
| Moonlit Grove, top right | 3 Moonfigs |
Getting Moonfigs
Moonfigs fully heal a Pokémon, sell for ₽320, and are the favorite berry of Clefairy, Venonat, Hoothoot and Mew.
- Without a Grove permit: pick up the Moonfig seed sparkle in Fernwake Woods and plant it. Each harvest has a 60% chance to give a seed back, so with a little luck one seed becomes a steady supply.
- With a Grove permit: the Grove's two bushes always give Moonfigs, often with a seed, and the starlight sparkle holds three more.
