Quick start

1. Open the game

Go to playpve.xyz in any modern browser, on a computer or a phone. You don't need a wallet, an account, or a download.

On the title screen, choose Begin your journey. If you've played in this browser before, you'll also see Continue. Choosing New journey asks before it erases your save.

Then type your name (up to 12 characters). Elder Wren and the valley will call you by it.

Sound

Browsers keep pages silent until you interact with them. The music and sound effects start after your first key press or tap. Press M (or Menu → Sound) to turn sound on or off.

2. Meet Elder Wren and pick a partner

You wake up at home in Mosslight Hamlet at 6:30 AM on day 1. Elder Wren walks over to greet you and offers three Pokémon born that spring:

BulbasaurGrass and Poison. Steady, with healing drain moves.CharmanderFire. Fast, and hits hard with special moves.SquirtleWater. Sturdy, with a strong defense.

After you choose, you can give your partner a nickname (or skip, and rename it any time from Party → Rename). Your partner starts at level 5 and follows you around the valley. Face it and press Space (or A) to see how it's feeling.

Wren also gives you:

You start with ₽1,500 to spend at Mira's Market.

3. Your first ten minutes

1. Check the mailbox beside your house. There's a letter waiting.
2. Plant your seeds. The garden plots are just south of your house. Face an empty plot and press A, then water it so it grows twice as fast. See Farming.
3. Visit Mira in the garden. She sells Poké Balls, Great Balls, Potions and seeds, and buys your berries. See Mira's Market.
4. Walk through tall grass. Wild Pokémon live in it. Weaken one in battle, then throw a ball and press A when the shrinking ring meets the circle. See Catching.
5. Battle Tomo, the kid by the pond. Win and you earn ₽300. See Trainers.
6. Head north to Fernwake Woods when you're ready. Pikachu and Geodude live there, Eevee shows up by day, and Vulpix appears at dusk.

4. Open your menus

5. Your save

The game saves automatically to your browser's local storage: every 10 seconds while you explore, and after battles and menus. There's no cloud save. Your progress lives in the browser you play in, so a different browser or device starts a new journey. See the FAQ.
